Spesso le tastiere sono adattate ai caratteri usati dalla lingua.
Selezionare una disposizione della tastiera che corrisponda alla tastiera
in uso oppure selezionarne uno simile nel caso che la disposizione della
propria tastiera non sia presente. Una volta completata l'installazione
del sistema è possibile scegliere la disposizione della tastiera fra un
numero maggiore di possibilità (eseguire <command>dpkg-reconfigure
keyboard-configuration</command> da root una volta completata
l'installazione).
