2018-07-05Revert "Makefile: Rename TARGET_DIRS to TARGET_LIST"Alex Bennée
This reverts commit 208ecb3e1acc8d55dab49fdf721a86d513691688. This was causing problems by making DEF_TARGET_LIST pointless and having to jump through hoops to build on mingw with a dully enabled config. This includes a change to fix the per-guest TCG test probe which was added after 208ecb3 and used TARGET_LIST. 2018-03-12audio: add driver registryGerd Hoffmann
Add registry for audio drivers, using the existing audio_driver struct. Make all drivers register themself. The old list of audio_driver struct pointers is now a list of audio driver names, specifying the priority (aka probe order) in case no driver is explicitly asked for. 2017-09-26Add --firmwarepath to configureGerd Hoffmann
Add a firmware path config option to configure. Multiple directories are accepted, with the usual colon as separator. Default value is ${prefix}/share/qemu-firmware. The path is searched in addition to the current search path (typically ${prefix}/share/qemu). This prepares qemu for the planned split of the prebuilt firmware blobs into a separate project. Distributions can also use this to get rid of the firmware symlink farm and add -- for example -- /usr/share/seabios to the firmware path instead. 2016-06-07Makefile: Derive "PKGVERSION" from "git describe" by defaultFam Zheng
Currently, if not specified in "./configure", QEMU_PKGVERSION will be empty. Write a rule in Makefile to generate a value from "git describe" combined with a possible git tree cleanness suffix, and write into a new header. $ cat qemu-version.h #define QEMU_PKGVERSION "-v2.6.0-557-gd6550e9-dirty" Include the header in .c files where the macro is referenced. It's not necessary to include it in all files, otherwise each time the content of the file changes, all sources have to be recompiled. 2015-12-18io: add QIOChannelSocket classDaniel P. Berrange
Implement a QIOChannel subclass that supports sockets I/O. The implementation is able to manage a single socket file descriptor, whether a TCP/UNIX listener, TCP/UNIX connection, or a UDP datagram. It provides APIs which can listen and connect either asynchronously or synchronously. Since there is no asynchronous DNS lookup API available, it uses the QIOTask helper for spawning a background thread to ensure non-blocking operation. Signed-off-by: Daniel P. 2014-02-20module: implement module loadingFam Zheng
This patch adds loading, stamp checking and initialization of modules. The init function of dynamic module is no longer directly called as __attribute__((constructor)) in static linked version, it is called only after passed the checking of presense of stamp symbol: qemu_stamp_$RELEASEHASH where $RELEASEHASH is generated by hashing version strings and content of configure script. With this, modules built from a different tree/version/configure will not be loaded. The module loading code requires gmodule-2.0. Modules are searched under - CONFIG_MODDIR - executable folder (to allow running qemu-{img,io} in the build directory) - ../ of executable folder (to allow running system emulator in the build directory) Modules are linked under their subdir respectively, then copied to top level of build directory for above convinience, e.g.: $(BUILD_DIR)/block/curl.so -> $(BUILD_DIR)/block-curl.so Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Fam Zheng <famz@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>

2013-06-04block: add block driver read only whitelistFam Zheng
We may want to include a driver in the whitelist for read only tasks such as diagnosing or exporting guest data (with libguestfs as a good example). This patch introduces a readonly whitelist option, and for backward compatibility, the old configure option --block-drv-whitelist is now an alias to rw whitelist. Drivers in readonly list is only permitted to open file readonly, and returns -ENOTSUP for RW opening. E.g. To include vmdk readonly, and others read+write: ./configure --target-list=x86_64-softmmu \ --block-drv-rw-whitelist=qcow2,raw,file,qed \ --block-drv-ro-whitelist=vmdk Signed-off-by: Fam Zheng <famz@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Kevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>
2012-04-24create_config: simplify prefix=* block, remove CONFIG_QEMU_PREFIXEduardo Habkost
As now that block handles only the prefix variable, the code can be much simpler. This also removes the CONFIG_QEMU_PREFIX define as it is not used by any C code. Signed-off-by: Eduardo Habkost <ehabkost@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-04-24create_config: remove *dir blockEduardo Habkost
Now only the qemu_*dir variables will become #defines. The other directory names aren't used by the C code. That means the following #defines won't be available in C code anymore: - CONFIG_QEMU_BINDIR - CONFIG_QEMU_LIBDIR - CONFIG_QEMU_INCLUDEDIR - CONFIG_QEMU_MANDIR - CONFIG_QEMU_SYSCONFDIR - CONFIG_QEMU_LIBEXECDIR The following #defines are going to be kept because they are handled by the qemu_* block on create_config: - CONFIG_QEMU_CONFDIR - CONFIG_QEMU_DATADIR - CONFIG_QEMU_DOCDIR This one will be kept because it is set directly by ./configure: - CONFIG_QEMU_HELPERDIR This patch keeps the 'prefix=*' (CONFIG_QEMU_PREFIX) pattern because other variables may use $prefix on their config-host.mak definitions. The remaining code will be simplified on a further patch. Signed-off-by: Eduardo Habkost <ehabkost@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2012-04-24create_config: separate section for qemu_*dir variables (v2)Eduardo Habkost
The generic *dir section will eventually go away and be replaced with qemu_* section. By now, both sections will be kept, while the variables get renamed on config-host.mak. With this patch, a XXXdir variable will become a CONFIG_QEMU_XXXDIR define, and a qemu_XXXdir variable will become CONFIG_QEMU_XXXDIR as well (instead of becoming a CONFIG_QEMU_QEMU_XXXDIR define). Changes v1 -> v2: - Rebase on top of newer qemu.git changes, that changed "tr '[:lower:]' '[:upper:]'" to "LC_ALL=C tr '[a-z]' '[A-Z]'". 2012-03-31Fix conversion from lower to upper case with Turkish localeStefan Weil
Some locale settings let make fail or create wrong results because tr '[:lower:]' '[:upper:]' which is used to convert from lower to upper case depends on the locale. With locale tr_TR.UTF-8, lower case 'i' is not converted to 'I'. This results in wrong entries in config-host.h like these ones: #define CONFIG_QEMU_PREFiX "/usr/local" #define CONFIG_QEMU_BiNDiR "/usr/local/bin" This problem was reported by Emre Ersin. The same problem occurs when configure creates the target specific files config-target.mak. They get wrong declarations: TARGET_CRiS=y TARGET_i386=y TARGET_MiCROBLAZE=y TARGET_MiPS64=y TARGET_MiPS=y TARGET_UNiCORE32=y It is sufficient to restrict the conversion to the characters a-z. Using this explicit range avoids the dependency on the locale settings and is also shorter. v2: POSIX says that 'tr a-z' is unspecified outside of the POSIX locale, so we must set LC_ALL=C to make sure that we are using POSIX (hint from Eric Blake, thanks).
