2023-01-30 | Mention the dep11 metadata directory and its purpose. | Cyril Brulebois
It would be a shame if users would delete those files and make hw-detect's job harder.
2023-01-30 | Delete section about https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=firmware | Cyril Brulebois
Given the way debian-cd's make-firmware-image works, it seems quite unlikely (even if always possible, lots of changes there lately!) that we would be missing actual firmware packages, i.e. packages which have a good-looking name *and* actual firmware files in the expected location. Sending users on a wild goose chase seems like a waste of everyone's time.
2023-01-30 | Trade unofficial images for official ones. | Cyril Brulebois
2023-01-30 | Delete note about kernel modules. | Cyril Brulebois
Since hw-detect uses modalias information (Debian 11), video drivers will get noticed by the install-firmware hook even if check-missing-firmware doesn't see any missing firmware files mentioned in dmesg. Debian 12 makes it much more likely to find required firmware packages.
2023-01-30 | Mention non-free-firmware as a new choice in apt-setup (expert mode). | Cyril Brulebois
2023-01-30 | Explain non-free-firmware vs. hw-detect/apt-setup. | Cyril Brulebois
2023-01-30 | Mention non-free-firmware instead of non-free. | Cyril Brulebois
Also mention the change happens with Debian 12.0.

2021-11-21 | Paragraph about booting the graphical installer was in file x86.xml, but it ↵ | Holger Wansing
also contains content for powerpc (and it may contain content for arm64 in the future too). So move content to its own file graphical.xml. (Content was conditioned for the respective arch already.)
2021-11-21 | Paragraph about use of graphical installer was visible for all archs, even ↵ | Holger Wansing
for those, who have no graphical installer. Fixed condition.
2021-11-21 | Paragraph about graphical installer was not visible for some archs. Fixed ↵ | Holger Wansing

2021-07-30 | Document the isenkram-based procedure (See: #989863, #991627). | Cyril Brulebois
Start by mentioning a few workarounds that might help log in into the installed system: nomodeset & Ctrl-Alt-F2. Document how to use isenkram-cli to automate firmware installation (and mention what happens so that users are taken by surprise). Finally, set an `id` for this new subsection so that it can be linked to directly. v2: Apply suggestions by Holger Wansing, thanks!
